Newman Mission Pancake Breakfast -- October 18, 2009

The John Newman Mission hosted another wonderful pancake breakfast on October 18, 2009 immediately following the celebration of Eucharist.   The proceeds are being donated to the Timau Mission and Sister Joanne Gangloff OSF in Kenya.

Father "Duke" Zajac celebrated the Eucharist with us and gave a stirring homily.  Many thanks to the organizers of the affair, and the cooks, the set up and decorating crew, the servers, and the clean up team.    John Roba, Steve Hanley, Tom Stoddard, Bob Teluto, Drew Taraboletti, Mike Lazickas, Jack Steiffel and many others helped cook the meal for 160 members of our community and the extended families.   Joanne Montante provided beautiful centerpieces for all the tables.   Let us give special thanks to Leon Colucci for making arrangements for us to use the Getzville Fire Hall for the mass and the breakfast.   We were pleased to see Sister Fran Gangloff OSF and many of the Sisters of St. Joseph at the celebration.    Many, many people helped on all the teams, and all the names may not be mentioned here.
