YOUR ADOPTED BABY
DUNCAN MUTWIRI
When I returned to Kenya , the baby we felt was most needy was Duncan Mutwiri, a little guy who will be one year old in January 2011. He was abandoned in a wooden shack in March of 2010 by his parents, but some children playing nearby heard him crying. The villagers broke into the house and traced his grandmother, a lady by the name of Sabella. The police have been unable to trace his parents -- Duncan's father is the son of Sabella. The grandparents have seen neither of them since.
Sabella is caring for her other own four children, three of whom are still in primary school. The fourth, a young mother of two, is also living there. So with Duncan , she and her husband are trying to raise 7 children in a very poor and challenging situation. They live out behind the mission in a rented room in a squatter area. The grandfather has not been able to procure any work…..jobs are very scarce and odd jobs are given to the young and strong over an older person. Their greatest needs are food, clothing, bedding and medical treatment which your adoption has made possible.
Sabella and Duncan in my office December, 2010.
Using your money we shall be able to give them a very nice Christmas and a good new year ahead. We shall keep you appraised of Duncan ’s situation, growth, and development.
