Evans Muthoni Muriungi - High School

JOHN NEWMAN MISSION COMMUNITY
ADOPTED HIGH SCHOOL BOY

Pictured here are Evans Muthoni and Titus Kariuki.  Titus befriended Evans and Evans is helping paint a school sign.  Evans is an orphan cared for by his grandmother.  Titus’ mother is alive but had abandoned the children and so he was also cared for by his grandmother, and this is perhaps the reason they bonded so easily.  Titus now lives in a rented room and caters for himself; he serves as kind of a big brother to Evans.  They both are frequently seen here at the mission looking for odd jobs in order to get some money for food.
Your sponsorship of Evans will put him through high school.  He will enter his sophomore year in January.  We got him through freshman year with donations, but sponsorship will now in addition to paying his school fees, get him clothes, food to share with his grandmother, medical and dental care as needed, bedding, books, and other needs.
You will be hearing from Evans shortly, and he will keep you appraised of his progress at school.

.... February 2011.  A letter (2 pages) was received from Evans. Click on each page to get a larger view to read the letter.
