Nicaragua Mission - Dedication of Retreat Center

In November 2011, the Nicaragua Mission Project announced the dedication of SINAI PASTORAL CENTER in Rivas, Nicaragua.   For the past several years, our community has supported the Nicaragua Mission Project in many ways.
  • Mission of the Month Donations (two months)
  • Numerous donations of clothing and household furnishings
  • Packing of boxes and loading of the 40 foot containers
  • Confirmation Class huge collection from several Harris Hill Garage Sales
  • Purchase of several dairy cows and pigs for the families to raise for nourishment
Now, in addition to the direct assistance to the families of Nicaragua, the Sinai Pastoral Center has been built with the help of hundreds of people from Western New York.   The John Newman Mission is included in this list of supporters who, in the words of Father Alfonso, have given their time, talent and treasures.

The following pages come from the Winter 2011 Edition of  La Via "The Way to Hearts and Hands".   The Sinai Pastoral Center is now serving the needs of 13 parishes in the area of Rivas, Nicaragua.

A "Thank You" Stone in one of dozens that line the walkway at the Sinai Pastoral Center (see walkway above).  The entire John Newman Mission Community should have been named.  Jack and Luanne accept this recognition on behalf of our entire mission community!
