FUTURE IN OUR HANDS -- Our December Donation
Imagine suddenly having no food and no home! For our African Partners in Kisumu and Kisii this is a reality due to heavy rainfall with flooding this month. Many people including the children at the Angelic Ark Centre face severe food shortages. Many families are homeless in Kisumu Kenya due to their houses being destroyed by the flood waters..
Can you please help provide life saving funds
with an emergency donation to FIOH-USA?A generous donor will match the first $1000 FIOH-USA receives!!

FUTURE IN OUR HANDS-USA has received updates and messages from our partners in Kenya regarding the current crisis.
Paul Odihambo, coordinator of FIOH-Kenya writes: "The rains have caused havoc in Usoma and other nearby villages. Houses have fallen down and some families are living in the schools and churches. So far there is no aid or assistance from the Government or any other organization."
The FIOH-K board has submitted a budget request of $2,400 to provide emergency food relief for 300 families in three flooded villages.
Linet Auma, coordinator of FIOH-AAKisii writes: "We are grateful for your continued support and concern about the effect of floods to AAC. Indeed it is a hard time for us because of excess rains. This has affected the maize, groundnuts (peanuts) and other vegetables planted at the Angelic Ark Centre. No harvest is expected to sustain us till next season in June. We will need to purchase supplementary foods like rice, lentils and cooking oil. As a board we are wondering how well we are going to manage the food and basic needs crisis for the next several months. Since we have been selling part of the food to supplement other basic needs, this will also be affected partially. Due to these concerns, we would appreciate if FIOH USA board could be of support in any given way."
The FIOH-AAKisii board has submitted a budget request of $2,700 to purchase food required over the next few months. They also need to purchase seed and fertilizer for the next planting season in March 2020.
